IGNITE

Dictionary.com defines the word “ignite” as to set on fire. I’m not sure this was my thinking when I titled the first official event of Victorious Educator Ministries. However, I do think it is an appropriate title for a gathering of Christian educators. It is my prayer that our hearts will be set on fire for Jesus and for fulfilling our calling as educators. Please excuse me as I digress this week and write a blog about the

this upcoming Saturday!

Bottom line—this event is an act of obedience and a step of faith. Many years ago the Lord laid a calling on my heart to begin a ministry for Christian educators. I truly believe that our schools are a mission field. Schools across the world are filled with Godly Christian educators who need support, encouragement and equipping. Being an educator today can feel overwhelming. It can be difficult to figure out the boundaries of what we can and can’t do or say. It is easy to just close our doors, do our jobs, and go home at night. However, if the light of Jesus lives in our hearts, we are called to let that light shine.

So many children (adults too) need to see the love of Jesus in us. There is so much we can do! All of us have experienced many life lessons that can encourage others. Victorious Educator Ministries (VEM) seeks to develop a forum by which Christian educators can accomplish these aims.

  • Share how God is moving and working in their schools

  • Seek guidance through God’s Word

  • Support each other through prayer

  • Grow spiritually in our walk with Christ

  • Gather together to build one another up

The IGNITE Gathering on Saturday, August 25, 2018 is our first official event to begin fulfilling the mission of supporting, empowering, igniting, and encouraging educators around the world to live out their Christian faith in the workplace—in front of kids, parents, and colleagues.

Here is where you come in. First, if you live in the Dallas Metroplex, consider joining us. We want you to be part of something new and exciting! Second, please pray for this ministry and this event. Specifically, pray for the following:

1. Pray for those in attendance. Pray their hearts will be open to the Holy Spirit’s voice. Pray that bonds and friendships will be formed. Pray that our hearts will be “ignited” for Jesus.

2. Pray for those who are considering attendance. Pray God will move them to make this a priority and that they will come with fellow believers from their schools.

3. Pray for those who are sharing and teaching. Pray for discernment and humility.

4. Pray for those who are working behind the scenes.

5. Pray for the future of this ministry. There is so much God wants to do in our schools through us.

In addition, will you join us in praying these verses this week? We are thanking God ahead of time for His faithfulness.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. Psalm 37:4-5

Stay tuned! Next week’s blog will focus on teachings and highlights from the event!
